DEG
"Diethylene Glycol"

DEG Usage Areas:

1. Plasticizer: DEG is used as a plasticizer to make products more flexible. Its applications include films, cables, and other plastic items.

2. Polyester Resin: DEG is also used in the production of polyester resins, but it tends to produce resins with higher flexibility compared to those made with MEG.
3. Humectant: Like MEG, DEG is used as a humectant in the tobacco industry, cosmetics, and in the manufacture of adhesives.
4. Solvent: It serves as a solvent for dyes, resins, and oils. DEG is particularly useful in the printing and textile industries.
5. Antifreeze and Coolants: DEG is used in antifreeze and coolants, but to a lesser extent than MEG, due to its higher viscosity and boiling point.
6. Dehydrating Agent: In the natural gas industry, DEG is utilized to remove water vapor from gas streams to prevent freezing and corrosion in pipelines.
7. Intermediate Chemical: DEG is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other chemicals, such as morpholine and dioxane.
